New for 2009, the Asics Dan Gable Ultimate 2 Wrestling Shoes are engineered for memorable performance at the highest levels of competition. Weighing in at just over 9 ounces, the Dan Gable Ultimate 2 is a lightweight wrestling shoe that features superior support, comfort and performance.

These shoes feature an injected PU uppper reinforcement that provides lightweight structural support while still maintaining a soft feel. Its escaline upper is soft, form-fitting and durable, while the integrated lace garage complies with the rules regarding laces. Finally, shine up lining material on the sockliner helps release odor when exposed to sunlight.

I use this shoe for Practice and Matches. It feel great, light weight, great soft ankle support. Good for shot and defending shot. It feel tights, up front to your feet. This cause great shot for double and single legs.

when i first got them in like october they felt really light and were flexible, but felt like cardboard socks. after about a season of wearing them the grip lines on the bottom are only half gone. toward the end of the season i noticed that little chunks of thick paper-ish something were gathering around my toes during practice. turns out the paper on the bottom of the insoles was tearing out. im now at sumer camp and the lace flap on the tongue tore in half. but i think im just gonna get new ones. more confortable and flexible than any addidas shoe that i tried.

Tad stiff out of the box... which goes away after a few days of use. Great traction and comfort when you're at it 2 hours a day 5 days a week. So far there hanging in there. College squads seem to tear the webbing up top at the toe.
