The Women's GEL-Strike 2 features the Asics GEL Cushioning System in the rearfoot for improved comfort. The GEL Cushioining System helps attenuate and absorb shock during the impact phase and allows for a smooth transition to midstance. This allows the GEL-Strike 2 to provide improved cushioning on multiple surfaces, and is intended for the road. They also feature a High Abrasion Rubber, placed in specific strategic areas of the outsole to provide exceptional durability on rough surfaces.

The Women's GEL-Strike 2 also features a slip lasting which helps keep the shoes lightweight and provide improved flexibility. With this technology, the upper is wrapped and stitched before it is glued to the midsole. This keeps a solid foundation while lightening the load.
