Like any who wish to succeed in the sport of wrestling, I compete/practice year-round and thus have gone through quite a bit of headgears. Such headgears include the Brute Quad III (which is my school's staple ear protector) and the Asics Gel. None have come close to the comfort and protection of the CK Signature, which is by far the best headgear I've worn-EVER.Lets start by comparing my previous ear guards to the CK Signatures. The Brute Quad III are horrible. The bulk of the Quad III's is polymer plastic, which means not only does it feel uncomfortable, it also doesn't offer sufficient protection. I still got minor Cauliflower due to the little space the headgear provides for your ears. It's stupid really. The headgear feels like a mini sauna that chokes your face. The CK signatures, however, have more then enough space for both sweat and protection. Unlike the hard plastic the Quad series uses, CK has a soft yet durable foam that feels super comfortable (SERIOUSLY comfy)and does more then enough to protect your ears.The Asics Gel is much better then the Quad line of headgear, but overall is far worse then the CK Signatures. The headgear hugs the face to the point where it leaves little room for skin. Maybe it's just me. Other then that, there's not much cons to the Asics Gel, but the pros aren't enough to make competitive when comparing it with the Signatures.Both the headgears I've previously worn have given me cuts to the forehead because of the material of the straps; they were made of some form of Velcro-like material. The CK's straps, on the other hand, are smooth and will not cut.Despite the great qualities of the staple CK Headgear, there is one possibly problematic con; It's hard as heck to adjust. Adjusting the fit of the headgear requires you to remove the padding, feed the tabs, and (if you want optimal hearing) cut some of the straps off. Worse yet, if you don't get it right the first time, well that sucks for you, do it again. However, there's two sides to the coin when it comes to this "feature". Because it's so hard to adjust, it also makes it that much harder to come loose, even ever so slightly. By far the most secure headgear I've ever worn.The CK Signatures is the most comfortable headgear on the market. The foam padding protects your ears and had good friction so it won't get in your way when wrestling (and won't hurt a headgear-less partner). It comes in a variety of colors and looks great. It's highly customizable as well. No doubt a pain in the butt to adjust, but because of this it's also super secure. The option of a chin cup is icing on the cake, though I haven't made the switch yet.Overall, if you couldn't tell, best headgear bar none. There's a reason it's everyone's favorite headgear.

When adjusted appropriately this is the best headgear out there. Doesn't slip around, doesn't hurt the sides of my head. I don't mind wearing it through a whole practice it is so comfortable. I just hope no one tries to steal it!

The head gear is very comfortable and light weight. The ear cover is big. It was a bit of a pain to adjust the size....but it got done!

I use the product for freestyle wrestling, in matches and practice.
This product has great protection, and once it is adjusted properly, it doesn't slip off.
This headgear is hard to adjust and is uncomfortable until it is worked in.

I haven't used the old school headgear in many years but when i recently started BJJ and found that my ears were getting sore, I decided to get headgear...I had to return another pair of newer style headgear because the straps were made of velcro and scratched at my head...they were lighter weight and easy to adjust but the scratching of the head was a non starter.

Ordered the Cliff Keen signature old school gear and after a few minutes of adjusting I'm extremely happy. Don't even feel them when I'm wearing them and now my ears aren't sore anymore. Go for it if you're a BJJ practitioner...sure they're awkward looking but you get past that quickly.

Bought this after my Fumetsu headgear broke. I use it for mainly for BJJ training. I was afraid it would slip or be uncomfortable for my training partners, but so far so good. No complains and the price was right. In fact two of my teammates are now going to get the exact same model. The only thing I cannot comment is on the build quality, seems solid but I just need to give it a few more months to see how they hold up

i would like to see this headgear made in youth sizes. We gave this as a incentive of participation in our youth club so we are trying to get are youth used to headgear now.

This is the Old school style and has been around for ever because they last and there is none better.. Maybe more fancy but none more practicle.. The Cliff Keen offers the original straps NOT the imitation braided rope and velcro junk you find on others. True these old style straps are tough to adjust and may even take upto an Hr to get it perfect, but once it is, its not going anywhere. This headgear will be the only one you ever need to buy. You can start at 4 and finish college in the same headgear! Watch the NCAA Tourn. about 90% wear the Cliff Keen...For a reason!
