I'm 44yrs old and started Karate a year ago. I've had chondro malachia patella (runners knee) for the last 3 yrs so when we started doing moves that required knee to ground contact I had to do something quick. These pads are super comfortable, sleek and not bulky under my heavyweight pants, they don't bunch up behind the knee, they offer support as well as protection, they're reversable so you can use on both knees, easy to wash - just plain awesome!!! NOTE: I'm 5'11, 195 lbs and I returned the Larges for X-Lrg, so watch your sizing. For now on with Web purchases I order both sizes, so your sure your getting the best fit.
